Download: Mozilla Firefox 8
Mozilla's Firefox 8 is expected to release tomorrow. However, sticking to its "tradition" of making it available before the official release, the folks from the company have put the latest version on FTP servers, to be inevitably discovered by geeks. This is your chance to flaunt the new FF8, while the rest of the world is still stuck with the older version.
The new offering promises to be more stable than previous versions. Having said that, the other changes aren't that significant. Here's the list of fixes:
* Add-ons installed by third party programs are now disabled by default.
* New one-time add-on selection dialog to manage previously installed add-ons.
* Added Twitter to the search bar.
* Added a preference to load tabs on demand, improving start-up time when windows are restored.
* Improved tab animations when moving, reordering, or detaching tabs.
* Improved performance and memory handling.
* Added CORS support for cross-domain textures in WebGL.
* Support for HTML5 context menus.
* Support for insertAdjacentHTML.
* Improved CSS hyphen support for many languages.
* Improved WebSocket support.
